DUO BEYOND LIMITS (Dutch version for English version please scroll down)
Duo Beyond Limits bestaat sinds oktober 2017 uit de samenwerking tussen trompettist Theo Hartman en gitarist Yiannis Giagourtas. Het ligt in beider ambitie voor 2018 om het repertoire voor trompet en gitaar in allerlei stijlen te exploreren. Hierbij staan composities van o.a. J.S. Bach, J.B. Loeillet en G.F. Händel uit de Barokperiode op hun programma. Voor trompet en gitaar leent het Romantische repertoire zich ook goed en zo staat o.a. ‘Le Montagnard’ van Napoleon Coste vaak geprogrammeerd. Eigentijds repertoire wordt ook nagestreefd en diverse componisten uit verschillende landen hebben hun medewerking toegezegd om originele werken voor deze bijzondere combinatie van instrumenten te willen creëren. Hedendaagse composities als ‘Amasia’ van Laurent Boutros, ‘Dialogue Provencal’ van Gilles Herbillon en ‘Lemon Grove’ van Meredith Connie heeft Duo Beyond Limits al diverse malen uitgevoerd. Solistische bijdragen worden tevens geprogrammeerd tijdens hun concerten. Zo speelt Yiannis gitaarsoli van zijn in het najaar van 2015 uitgebrachte cd ‘Guitar Echoes’ en Theo trompetsoli waaronder het mooie ‘Monologue Intérieur’ van de Nederlandse componist Marco de Goeij op YouTube te beluisteren. Speciaal voor de maand december heeft Duo Beyond Limits een mooi kerstprogramma met prachtige ‘French Carols’ gearrangeerd en gecomponeerd door de Franse componist Gilles Herbillon.

Duo Beyond Limits exists since October 2017 and is the collaboration between trumpeter Theo Hartman and guitarist Yiannis Giagourtas. For 2018 both musicians aim to explore the repertoire for guitar and trumpet in all kind of styles. On the program from the Baroque era are compositions by J.S. Bach, J.B. Loeillet and G.F. Händel. The Romantic repertoire fits both instruments also nicely and ‘Le Montagnard’ by Napoleon Coste is one of the highlights during concerts. Contemporary compositions like ‘Amasia’ by Laurent Boutros, ‘Dialogue Provencal’ by Gilles Herbillon and ‘Lemon Grove’ by Meredith Connie have been performed frequently. Several international composers have declared the wish to create new pieces for this unique and surprising combination. Soli are also part of the concertprogram. Yiannis will perform several guitarsoli from his cd ‘Guitar echoes’ which has been released in autumn 2015 and Theo trumpetsoli like the beautiful ‘Monologue Intérieur’ by Dutch composer Marco de Goeij to be listened on YouTube. Special for the month December Duo Beyond Limits has a nice Christmasprogram with beautiful ‘French Carols’ arranged and composed by French composer Gilles Herbillon.
